Lap Top NO not Lap Dance!

Post by salez4u » May 1st, 2006, 7:28 am

DOC The Doggie told me to talk to you about lap tops. I am looking for one and have no idea what I need or should get. I don't want to spend alot.

I only need it for Ebay boards and photos. My PC is great for the Ebay salez end of life

I have HS cable and just want something for the house. I bought a wireless router and am waiting for someone to hook it up for my daughters school laptop for home use
I am totally computer challanged, so be easy with me

I thought for sure Dog,Tommy and I were going to get Pinked for one of our threads yesterday. He he he he
The Mr. Hanney 8 1/2 inches was a hoot!
That Purple Turtle almost made me wet myself I laughed so hard.
It was all in fun, but some azz will report it
T is mad at me cause I called him out on his usual zanny comments to a buyer who got screwed, so he will likely report me and get me Pinked .

Our dent guy got one 2 weeks ago and loves it. Pretty much all you will need in a notebook.

I read that thread this morning, I'm jealous! I only have 8 Inches!! 8 Inches and a lap dance could get interesting.. :)

Thanks Doc, that looks good for the money. I looked at one at Best Buy, but it was way more $ and not much different.

Yea that thread was a hoot for sure. 8 inches is good too LOL As they say it ain't the length, but how you use it :D

I wish the Goddess had been there for that one, then we really would have been peeing our pants!

I had better get my azz in gear and sell some carp on Ebay, so I can get my laptop, or I'll have to wait until the beggining of July  when I'm due some funds.

I hope you get to go see Doggie this summer and swim in the cement pond. Maybe by then the ducks will have worn themselves out and left :D
Glad someone is getting laid these days, even if it is only Dog's ducks who get some

Dog's place is really nice and I know he would make certain ya'all have a good time. His animals/livestock are real healthy and beautiful!

Sounds like your place has been busy, That is always good news. With the price of gaz here in NY , the dealers have a ton of cars on the lots that are just not moving unless they are super good on gaz.

I want to see if I can trade my van for a BIG AZ SUV . I work from home, so comuting cost is not a factor for me. I have just learned to combine my outings to protest the $3.25 per gallon for regular. :x

You feeling OK these days? Keep the faith. It could always be worse.

Behave yourself DOC and feel good :D

Oh I am so going to steal that gif! ROTFLMAO

I'll bet that would earn me a long hard PINK slap if I posted that on EBM. LOL it might be worth it in the future if the situation warrented it. :D

I can't remember who posted one of the funniest I have seen in a while. It was either Sciss or Nukke. It was one of the 7 dwarfs mooning !

I was sipping a nice glass of red wine and it ended up all over my nonitor and keyboard when I saw it.

My dauhgter was in the room and asked me if I was OK , because I was laughing and choking at the same time. the photo was soooooooo appropriate for the thread situation.

I wanted to use it yesterday on Tony, but knew I would regret it if I did. I had to sit on my hands on that one :x

I think the Ebay board monitors get cranky sometimes and you never know what they will allow from day to day.

F them if they have no sense of humor! There was life before Ebay and there will be life after ebay. DOC you are living proof of that :D

I would advise you to behave yourself over there.. eBay makes snap decisions, and if you need eBay to sell some stuff better stay off the boards! In the click of the mouse you are history!!

Yea we had a good month, got 29 Retail out for April. Autotrader.com works well for us. And my new feedback system on the website is bringing in more out of the area buyers! Big Heavys are still selling, Sold 2 expeditions and 1 Navigator last month.. People are still going to buy what they feel comfortable in driving regardless of the price!

I drive a V8 Mercedes but just go to work and back home, If i have to run an errand for work i find something with some gas in it and drive it..

As far as computers go, I prefer a generic brand with an Intel chipset. All the other guts are made in China anyway, no matter whose name is badged on the unit! AMD processor is not bad either, the one i sold Phil had an AMD chipset, wished i hadn't been forced to sell it.. But I'll get another soon.

Yea , I had better behave . I need Ebay right now to get rid of some carp.

29 is great ! , but I know you have to work hard in this economy for every sale.

I have seen certain areas I sell in, drop alot in the last year on Ebay. The high prices and bidding wars are not there like they used to be.

I want to go look at a few pieces of furniture this weekend. They look and sound nice, but who knows. The elderly women may want more than they are realy worth to me for resale.

I often find these grey haired little old ladies, think every thing they own will sell for really high prices on Ebay, when in fact they are really junk.

It used to be I could throw something up on Ebay and get bidding wars. Now with the price of gaz for freight going up, the bidders are only going for the really special pieces .

I will be doing some pieces for local PU only in a few weeks. I have to start clearing out .

Oh well such is life. It could be much worse :)

Salez, you can say what you want over on Ned's so that's a lot of fun. There are a lot of ebayers or ex ebayers over there.

I have been trying to watch what I say. Overall, I think the moderators let me slide as I've only been slapped twice in something like 3 yrs. One of them was for giving my office number to someone who wanted to ask about a tank. Once was for my pussy pic and maybe there was one more. Oh, yeah, it was on that Abimaleh thread and they told me it was hate speech cause I said I was Japanese. Go figure.

I'm using a dell Latitude D610 right now for work. So far so good but it was brand new when I got it. Big girl has a Dell Inspiron for about 1 1/2 yrs and it's still working great and does what she needs. In fact, both my desktops are Dells too. They aren't the greatest computers but they're cheap.

Yeah, I get away with a lot. Mr Hanney got slapped for his 8 1/2" post. He said he feels like part of the family now. Don't know why he got slapped for his weeds but Phil doesn't get slapped for his rain.

Al, where ya been. Someone actually mentioned you on EBM wondering where you'd got tol.

I had a good day off today. I slept most of the day. I was so tired! I am ready to hit the ground running at the auction in the morning.

Doc I really look forward to your visit this summer.

This little laptop I bought nearly two years ago has been a real blessing. Windows Internet Explorer is not working anymore. I have checked and done about everything I can think of. I just use another browser when I use it. I guess I could reinstall windows, but even if the thing blew up today it was an excellent value and I have been thrilled with it!

I bought a new GATEWAY a few months ago. It has been a great laptop too. When my PC at the office goes out, I will replace it with the GATEWAY.

I really try to behave myself on the motors board....

Me and Tommy turtle tend to get way out there, but I haven't been pink slapped in many months!

I am so tired i can't think straight!

Been here since about 8 this morning, and its after 8 now!

We bought another batch of off lease Volvo's today and i had to get in early and carfax the ones we were interested in before sale time. Folks are sold on CarFax and no matter how nice the car is, If it has a dirty carfax they avoid it like the plague!

I hope to get a week off in June or July and come for a visit, buy a truck load of cars and ship em home.. Lets get a group together and invade Phil's Place..

Oh well.. Another day is coming to an end! I could fall asleep in my chair right now.. 8)

No, one guy thought that he should be able to buy a 79 HD for the same price as a Yamaha. The other just had life bite him in the butt. He's building In Law quarters instead of buying the bike.

I'm actually going to Phoenix next week.

I've been really busy too. Between yard work, the 2000+ capacitors I just picked up, work, kids, I'm just worn out.

Hey DOC , I'll take the Black or gold one if it has a tan interior! I love that car. I drove a friend's and it was very nice.

I am about ready to dump my Toyota Sineena XLE 42,000 original miles. I bought it brand new in 2000. The last 2 years I have had to replace 2 senors total $1000 just to pass NYS inspection. Fu ck that .A $30,000 vehicle should not need that crap with low miles.

I am going to talk to Toyota about this :x

Seriously DOC what do the volvos go for $?

I think any Emissions Related Sensors should be covered under some kind of Federal Emissions warranty. Al should know about that..

The Volvo's are 2001-2003's and are going for between 10k and 15k. We have 15 S60's and 4 S80's. The S60's are the most popular. Miles are between 30 to 60k. Nice selection.. All are Volvo Credit off lease units..

It's no fault of ours if you pay more elsewhere and get less! 8)

Salez on your 2000 Toyota sienna XLE V-6 3.0L

The only emission senors that I can find for it that would be close to AS!

Would your Oxygen senors that are referred to as A/F Sensors (Air/Fuel mixture)

A national average price at the Toyota dealer would be.

(2) sensors @ $227.52 = 455.04
Diagnostic time 1 hr. @ $100.00 an hr.= $100.00

replace the sensors .8 hr. = $80.00

455.04 + 100.00 + 80.00= 635.04 + taxes

chances are that only one is bad not both, probably a burnt or broken wire.

Take to a competant mechanic! that you trust

He should be able to diagnosis and repair the vehicle for far less!

Doc, most senors are considered consumable and not covered!

BUT if you can prove that possibly a defective componant aused their premature failure then everything would be covered!

Good luck, Warranty Co.'s SUCK

J-ainc Thanks. Yea Toyota has the van 2 days and want $450+ for the replacemnt Air flow? sensor. Last year at inspection it needed a $600 sensor. I can't remembe which one, as the receipts are in the vehicle at the dealer.

It has frikien 42,000 miles has been dealer maintaned since day 1 . NOT NO MORE :x

I just going to dump it . This is my 6th NEW toyota and my last :x

I paid $30k for that van in 2000 , I will never buy new again, it is just not worth it.

We did away with it in 2000. They figured it out that since most vehicles were EFI and didn't pollute anyway.

Doc that is exactly what the mechanic at Toyota said,. If it was another state the van would NOT need the sensor :x

I am trying to find out about what I can get for the van with low miles and IF i can get any financing.

Thanks to the ex I got stuck with all kinds of credit problems :x The van is paid in full (3 years early), but thru Americredit (Texas WHORES)

I really want a big az SUV ,Volvo or Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (4wd only) USED ONLY
But I hate to have payments again because I'll only get $9K for the van.

Maybe $10K+ Private here in NY with the low miles I should have sold it 2 years ago when there was still some value .

New ones are $30K Never again

I still have to drive it 50-100 miles now to reset the stupid computer crap! Then they do the inspection again and he said it will pass.

I hate this crap Emissions ! Give me a 65 Pontiac anyday. :D

We have two places in WA state that require vehicle emmision checks, Seattle and Spokane. My oldest daughter lives in Spokane, so all of her vehicles are titled in my city and her drivers license list my home for her address.

I think the emmsion checks are a scam, just another way for the state and a few businesses to scam a few extra bux.

Salez, I used to buy a new car every three year, when the warranty was about to expire. Started getting upside down in the last two, so I bought a 2004 Honda Accord, with a seven year extended Honda warranty. Another five years, I will buy another car. My pickup is a 2002 Mazda B3000. Drive this most of the time and when it's ready to replace, will buy something like a 35 Ford pickup and not worry about depreciation.

'65 Pontiac would be a much better car than the Toyota.

JR Here in NY the emissions are a scam. You are right about the new vehicles. No MORE for price, depreciation and BS.

I can be just as happy with something off lease, with a few dings and the certified warrenty for alot less money.

You are going to pay a lot for a Certified Vehicle Warranty.. I sold 3 Volvo's yesterday, One was to a guy who was about to pay 7,000 more for the identical car with comparable miles at the Volvo Dealer.. You are paying for that Certified Pre Owned Warranty!

It really is a roll of the dice.. deciding to warranty or not.. If you plan on keeping the car a year or two and don't put excessive mileage on a vehicle, i advise against paying the higher price for the warranty. If you are keeping the car 5 years and plan on putting clost to 100k miles on it, the extra $$ for warranty coverage might be a good idea.

The Volvo S60 is a fantastic riding and handling car, go with a Turbo and you will be impressed with the performance. However they are expensive to maintain, and have suffocated systems alert devices that come on telling you to go to the dealer for service. One we had out of the last batch had a side air bag curtain go off, the passengers window would not go up, out tech was banging on the door panel and rocking the switch back and forth, sounded like a shot gin going off.. It is still at the dealership as they are trying to figure out what caused it to deploy.

salez, I had a 2002 Nissan Altima, every two months a sensor would take a dump, the interior was cheap and wore poorly, the brakes never worked right, all was covered by warranty, but could never get it fixed correctly. I couldn't wait to unload that car when the warranty was about to expire.

I thought about leasing, but couldn't justify it with my use of the vehicle. I bought the Honda with the extended warranty, had a '99 that I had traded in for the Nissan and it was a good car. Thought about a Honda Oddessy, but wouldn't fit into my garage with all my hot rod stuff. Beside being a Honda, they had a really good lease on them, about half the price of payments. Really didn't care what I got, as long as it was a Honda. My Accord has 18K mles, no problems, gets all maintenance work at Honda.

I did check on the dealer "Certified" used vehicles, expensive, cheaper to buy new.

When you unload the Toyota, check on a lease and see if it fits your needs. I'm not familar with Volvo's, no dealership or Saturn dealership within a 3 hour drive each way. When I'm ready to buy a new car, will check on a Volvo, maybe the Ford dealership will do the warranty work, since they are built by Ford, but what do I know.

I need to go buy a car. I figured Toyota or Honda either new or certified used. I need the warranty for the kind of miles I'm going to put on it.
