eBay Scammer Thieves

Post by JR » August 9th, 2004, 10:45 pm

I got two of the following e-mails from these addresses. I think they are scams. Should I play with them, turn them into eBay or just delete the e-mails?

1. From: josef albert <[email protected]>
Subject: "1936 Ford : Other Models" Item number: 2486476610
To: [email protected]

Hello
I saw that you have bidded on 1936 Ford : Other Models" recently.
I want to inform you that I have one too 1936 Ford : Other Models" and
I was wondering if you want to buy it. I am willing to sell this for
"1936 Ford : Other Models"(shipping and handling fees included).I am a registered and serious
seller on eBay. If you want I could ask eBay to contact you and certify I
am indeed serious and trust worthy. This transaction will also be
covered under eBay's Fraud Protection Program ! I don't want to list the unit
again because of the scammers on eBay. It is pretty expensive just!
Please let me know as soon as possible if you want this or not.
Respectfully yours!

LOL i'd love to see this email from ebay to make you trust him as a seller. Did you ask him what the "other " model is?

Here's the reply I got from him, said I was interested and then I asked him where I could look at it.

Dear sir,
The price is 7029 USD and can be negotiable.
I have it from my grandfather.
I don`t have it listed on eBay.
Reply me soon if you are interested.
As you can see in the photo, i have it for sale, not only on-line.

I forgot how to paste a picture here, it looks pretty nice, wouldn't mind having it.

Got a reply from Josef today, he is in Italy and has only one picture of the car. I told him I liked it, was interested, but since it was in Italy, it would be a hassle to ship and maybe next time.

I think my correspondence with him is done. Was pretty boring, but got a really nice picture to use for wallpaper.

LOL next time tell the scammer how lucky the timing is and that you will be there on business when would be a good time to stop by and look at it. I've gotten some interesting answers doing that.
